Book Clubs are a fun way for kids to continue to read outside of school, which sometimes can be a bit of a battle (at least in my house it is)! Book clubs increase comprehension of the text. In addition, they enhance communication and social skills as they require active listening and participation. They can also motivate reluctant readers since they may look forward to the social part of a book group. For the readers who don't need motivation to read, the chance to discuss a book will enhance their reading experience.
In addition to all of that, it gives parents time to run a few errands or get some quiet time to themselves at home, all while their child is learning, socializing, and reading!
